Sutton Tools now offers a one stop shop for consumable, durable and indexable tools along with tool holding, and work holding solutions in addition to automated inventory management solutions.
We have long been aware of the need our customers have for a more comprehensive sourcing solution. As we talk with industrial managers throughout Australia and beyond, we’ve seen a preference for – and trend towards – having a single supplier with the in-depth industry knowledge and technical competence to meet 100% of their needs.
To date, as with our focus as Australia’s leading manufacturer of solid carbide round tools, we have only been focused and able to satisfy a portion of our customers complete tooling needs. So now we’ve decided to partner with world-leading tooling manufacturers to support our goal of being able to provide 100% of our customers tooling and work holding needs.
The result is our new High Performance Solutions division, has been specifically created to deliver 100% of our customers’ CNC machining needs, including standard and fast turnaround customised solutions for special applications
Completing the circle
In addition to Sutton Tools’ locally manufactured tooling for milling, hole-making and threading – as well as a range of coating, surface treatment and reconditioning services through our subsidiary Surface Coating Technology – we’ve added and expanded our agency brands.
We are now an Australian distributor of Walter tooling, representing around 40,000 SKUs. Next day delivery comes via Walter’s Singapore warehouse FIS. Plus, as with our own range, you can ‘try before you buy’ – we’ll obtain test tools from Walter for you to run trials with.
We have also added tool holding and work holding products from the Hoffman Group. Our premium range is Garant for high-end applications, and we’ve supplemented that with the versatile Holex brand. We introduced a local stock module for the most popular items at our Thomastown warehouse for next-day delivery; other SKUs can be delivered within 7-14 days from Europe.
Our stable of agencies are further strengthened with brands including Ceratizit, Tapmatic and, AMEC. We have also partnered with TBT – the German company that provides made-to-order gun drills and deep hole drilling solutions. Of course, we provide regrinding and recoating services for any brand of tool – not just our own.
Finally, we’ve made a significant investment in our relationship with SupplyPro – a US company that provides automated vending solutions for a wide range of industries. We’ve already installed a SupplyPro tool cabinet in our own factory and are benefiting from the inventory management accuracy obtained from this innovative solution – which entirely automates inventory management and reordering.
A new Sutton Tools team
In order to deliver an expert, comprehensive service to our customers, our High Performance Solutions division is supported by some new faces. The team is led by Peter Rollauer, who joined us in late 2020. Peter has had with an extensive career in the industrial tooling industry.,
To roll out our new capabilities, Peter has hired industry-experienced Key Account Managers with Mechanical Engineering qualifications along the Australian eastern seaboard, to add to our existing expert Account Managers in South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria. Each of these individuals has been chosen to work closely with our customers on solving industrial challenges of any kind – with the support of our expert R&D, manufacturing and logistics teams.

The creation of our High Performance Solutions division is a recognition that our customers are looking for a close relationship with an Australian supplier who understands their unique challenges. We believe that, by supplying a comprehensive range of products – principally stocked and fully supported in Australia – we are adding value to our existing long-term relationships.
